The Neighborhood School “Multicultural Festival”

Saturday, May 8 - 11 AM to 2:00 PM

Hello TNS Families:

Our Annual Multicultural Festival will be held Saturday May 8, from 11 AM until 2:00 PM. The purpose is to have lots of fun while celebrating and learning about the cultures of children at our school. We will have Culture Tables (where you can place your photos, books, fabrics, artifacts, instruments or whatever you choose representing your culture), games (kids can play from around the globe), performances (Capoeira, Flamenco, Klezmer - traditional Jewish music, a Latin group & singing and poetry from our students, plus more), collages (your family photos), passports to culture (every child gets a passport that gets stamps to show she/he visited every Culture Table), writing project (will display stories written by students), song writing (kids can write and will music will be created to back it), fashion show (your child or you can bring in and model traditional clothes from your culture and model them 2010 style, ethnic cuisine (let us know what you will bring to share & there will be some food demonstrations), your basic food fare (to make sure everyone gets a good lunch) plus much more!

Envelops through which to receive and secure your family photos are on their way to you now. Bring items for the Culture Tables the night before from 6-9 PM or as early as 9 AM on the day before.
