Register for the Neighborhood School Summer Read-a-thon by Friday, June 18th!

Dear Parents and Students,           

By now, all students in Pre-k through 4^th grade should have received their Summer Read-a-thon packets in their school mailboxes.  Please take a moment to read the instructions inside and consider signing up to participate.  

The Summer Read-a-thon is an annual fundraiser for our school, which in years past has raised between $2,800 and $5,000!  It’s fun and easy, and an excellent way to encourage students to continue reading during the summer and help the school at the same time.  (It is much like a walk-a-thon, but instead of walking, they’re reading books!)  Please note this is for every type of reader – from beginner to experienced.  Stories that are read to your child can be counted.  So, even the youngest student can participate.

During the summer, all registered participants will receive a letter of encouragement, with a prize, and in the fall, when they bring in their reading logs and collected donations, they will be given a Read-a-thon t-shirt as a thank you gift from the PTA. 

Please fill out the registration form included in your Summer Read-a-thon packet (green page) and put it in the envelope hanging outside your child’s classroom door.  Registration forms must be handed in by Friday, June 18^th.
