Week of October 16, 2017

Dear Neighborhood School Families,

This fall, TNS will once again host several groups of Dutch educators who are part of a nationwide initiative called Platform Onderwijs 2032 (Platform Education 2032).  Each group is composed of teachers and administrators from pre-kindergarten to high school who are interested in identifying and making good educational practice visible, implementing it, organizing and supporting teacher/administrator education and taking part in the public debate on education.  During these visits, they will observe classrooms and speak with the teachers, children and parents in an effort to build upon their understanding of what constitutes a good education.

TNS staff and families have formed a Relief for Puerto Rico Committee in response to Hurricane Maria.  Each week, families can donate supplies.  There will be a large box in the Lobby for donations.  Please see the schedule below:

Baby Week - Oct 16th - 20th (powder formula, diapers, wipes)

Hygiene Week - Oct 23rd - 27th (tampons, sanitary napkins, deodorant, bar soap)

First Aid Week - Oct 30th - Nov 3rd (band aids, gauze, tape, antiseptic spray/lotion)

Batteries Week - Nov 6th - 10th (all sizes)

NYC Parks is renovating the North side (4th street) of McKinley Playground.  Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and let us what is important to your children: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3RWSBSC
