Dyanthe’s Weekly Letter

Dear Families,

Our 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th grades have started taking ballet once a week with New York City Ballet (NYCB).  Today, they are going to Lincoln Center to see the opening excerpt from Donizetti Variations, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, and Fancy Free. This first-hand experience will help students deepen their understanding and ballet residency experience.  Our partnership with NYCB means every child gets the opportunity to explore this genre during their time at TNS.

Calling all siblings: the DOE Pre-K application has opened!  Please reach out to Denise at denise@tnsny.org if your child turns four by December 31st so that she can let the DOE know that they are a sibling of a current TNS student and have priority admission.

It’s time for our TNS’s parent band to spread its wings!  The Battle of the Bands is back!  District 1 is excited to announce the return of District 1’s BATTLE of the family bands this year at the Bowery Ballroom on Sunday, April 2.  The basic concept is that band members, composed of a D1 school’s parents/staff members, perform a 15-minute set of music in any genre.  Judges decide the winning school.  It’s silly, fun, and somewhat competitive. Please email me (dyanthe@tnsny.org) if you are interested in participating in this event and representing TNS.

Please remember Friday is a half-day.  Dismissal is at 11:45 a.m.

Warmly,

Dyanthe
