Dyanthe’s Weekly Letter

Dear Families,

At TNS, we believe that children learn best through first-hand experiences with people, materials, and places; that is why trips are such an important part of our school’s curriculum.  One TNS “milestone” field trip is going to overnight camp, and our 4th and 5th graders will go this week!  This year’s three-day, two-night environmental camping trip will take place at the Taconic Outdoor Education Center (TOEC) in Fahnestock State Park, Putnam County, New York.  Activities include hiking and maple sugaring. On the way up, they will stop at the Stony Kill Farm for some outdoor educational activities, including a visit with their barn animals. This is our first overnight trip since COVID, and we are all so excited!  I’ll be sure to share pictures so your kids can start getting excited for when they get to go!

This Friday is a half-day.  Dismissal is at 11:45 a.m.

Warmly,

Dyanthe
