Dear Families,
Summer Rising is a partnership between the New York City Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). Programming includes academics led by DOE staff and enrichment activities led by DYCD Community Organizations. Summer Rising begins July 5th and runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. TNS and STAR Academy will be a Summer Rising site this summer (this does not mean that TNS teachers will teach summer school).
You can submit a Summer Rising application to enroll your child at nyc.gov/SummerRising beginning on April 17. The application asks for your child’s nine-digit ID number, which you can get from Denise or the office. I encourage you to sign up early; however, this year, students enrolled in University Settlement or TNS will have priority.
Please remember that there is no school this Thursday and Friday in observance of Passover. I wish you a wonderful spring break! We look forward to seeing you on Monday, April 17.
