Dear Families,
During the month of June, teachers are hard at work in the evenings and on the weekends writing end-of-year progress reports. Progress reports tell the story of a child as a learner over the year; they reveal a child’s interests, strengths, and areas for growth. Reports go home Friday, June 23.
Please join us Friday from 3 – 5 p.m. to celebrate our Kindergarten through 5th-grade students’ art-making accomplishments. We will exhibit their paintings, drawings, collages, and clay sculptures. There will be a guided gallery tour by Mildor to view the artwork and a short Q&A session after seeing the show. A map of the exhibition will be provided to help you navigate through all the displays in the school building.
Don’t forget to remind your child to hold onto their teddy bear! We will continue to use teddy bears in classrooms next year, and if your child is moving to a new classroom, they will bring their bear with them.
Return your overdue library books! Your friends will appreciate being able to check them out next year.
Warmly,
Dyanthe
Each year, we balance the needs of our children and school alongside teachers’ wishes for the following year. This year, several of our teachers changing
Next year, several of our teachers are moving to teach in different classrooms. Shaniqua will move up to teach ⅔. Shaniqua started teaching at TNS as a ½ teacher and looks forward to working with our older students next year. Liz will move up to teach ⅘ ICT with Matt. Liz is excited to teach in an ICT classroom, as she did when she taught with Tiffany last year and student taught in Grace and Caroline’s class. Dianne will take over Shaniqua’s K/1 class, and Neddy will stay with her class and work with a new co-teacher. Raja is joining our school (permanently) to co-teach ⅔ with Grace again next year.
Teachers will speak with children today about these changes, which may elicit feelings for kids. Some children will be excited, and others may be upset because they thought they were having their teacher again next year.
Warmly,
Dyanthe
