Dyanthe and Shaquawn’s Weekly Letter

Dear Families,

We need your help! We are calling for adult volunteers to play a crucial role in revamping our school garden on Saturday, March 23, from 10 am – 4 pm. We need parents to remove two planters, install mesh to further rodent-proof the garden, and move planters a short distance from the garden edges to make them more accessible to kids and less accessible to pests! We expect the event to last a few hours, so come late, leave early–any time anyone can contribute will help our garden thrive! Please reach out to thirdstreetschoolgarden@gmail.com for more information.

The DoE has updated its COVID guidance policy: instead of a minimum isolation period, the CDC recommends people with COVID-19 stay home and away from others based on their symptoms, similar to how they would for other respiratory infections, like flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).  If someone has COVID-19 symptoms, they should still get tested and separate from others immediately. They recommend staying home until they have had no fever without taking fever-reducing medicine and other COVID-19 symptoms have improved for at least 24 hours. If they test positive for COVID-19 but have no symptoms, there is no need to stay home.

The deadline to complete School Surveys is April 5th. We made it to 70.8% completion – thank you! Let’s keep it going!  Denise will be downstairs with iPads on Friday during and after SING. If you haven’t completed yours and have some time after arrival, please stop by her table to fill out your survey. QR codes will be available. Click here to complete your survey: 2024 NYC School Survey.

We will have SING this Friday right after arrival in the basketball court (3rd Street drop-off area).  Classes will sit in a circle near their line-up spots.

Warmly,

Dyanthe and Shaquawn
