Corporate Matching via Benevity — Double Your Gift

This is the single highest-leverage way to give. Most large employers match charitable donations 1:1 or 2:1 — meaning your $100 gift becomes $200 or $300 for TNS, with about five minutes of paperwork on your end. TNS PTA is fully registered on Benevity (and most other major platforms).

How to Request a Match (3 Steps)

  1. Check if your employer matches. Search your company intranet for "charitable matching," "corporate giving," or "Benevity." If you don't find it, ask HR or People Ops.
  2. Donate to TNS PTA via Zeffy above (or check / stock if that's easier). Any method counts — but Zeffy is fastest because you get an instant tax receipt your employer can attach to the match request.
  3. Submit the match request through your employer's giving portal. They'll need our EIN 13-4033837 and legal name Parent Teacher Association of The Neighborhood School Inc. Or point them directly to our Benevity profile .

Give Your Time — Volunteer

Can't give cash right now? Your time is a donation too — and arguably the one the PTA needs most. The board is actively recruiting for every executive role ahead of the May 2026 elections, and several key events need coordinators.

Where We Need Help Right Now

  • Spring Fling & Auction (May 7): procurement, data entry, setup, check-in.
  • Executive Board (elected in May): Co-President, Co-Treasurer, Parent Coordinator Liaison, Secretary. Two-person roles preferred.
  • Event leads: Art Day (February), Movie Nights, Halloween, Brooklyn Cyclones & NY Liberty game outings.
  • Ongoing committees: Bake Squad, Advocacy, Website, Teacher Appreciation.

No prior experience required. The work scales to the time you have — a one-off shift, a monthly commitment, or a year-long role. Email ptapresident@tnsny.org to get matched to something that fits.
