How to apply to The Neighborhood School

Welcome to TNS

The Neighborhood School is a progressive, inclusive public elementary school serving 3K through 5th grade in NYC's East Village (District 1). We welcome prospective families to learn about our community.

School Tours

We offer in-person tours where you'll meet current students and parents, visit classrooms, and participate in a Q&A session with Principal Novella and Assistant Principal Parker.

Please bring a photo ID to show school safety when entering the building.

How to Apply

Kindergarten (children born in 2022)

Applications are submitted through MySchools NYC . For enrollment questions, contact 718-935-2009 or email ESEnrollment@schools.nyc.gov .

3K and Pre-K

3K and Pre-K applications are also available through MySchools NYC . Visit the NYC DOE website for application timelines and deadlines.
