Who we are
The Neighborhood School (PS363M) is a New York City public elementary school located at 121 East 3rd Street, New York, NY 10009. This website (tnsny.org) is operated by the school's Parent Teacher Association (the "PTA," "we," "us") to share school news, events, and resources with our community. We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and only for the limited purposes described below.
Information that students submit through New York City Department of Education systems is governed by the DOE Student Privacy Policy, not this policy.
What we collect
We only collect information that you choose to give us. Specifically:
- Contact & PTA forms. When you fill out a form on this site (for example, the Contact Us form or a PTA sign-up sheet) we collect the information you enter — typically your name, email address, optional phone number, role (parent, prospective family, community member, etc.), and the message you write.
- Donations. If you donate to the PTA, the donation itself is processed by our third-party donation provider, Zeffy. We do not collect or store your credit card number or bank details on this site.
- Technical request logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically receives standard request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or behavioral profiling on this site.
- Cookies. The public site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies only for school staff and PTA volunteers who sign in to the admin area to manage content.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Forms on this site are intended for parents, guardians, staff, and community members. If a child has submitted information without parental consent, a parent or guardian may contact us using the address below to have it removed.
How we use information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your message, question, or request.
- Coordinate PTA activities, volunteering, fundraising, and school events.
- Send school and PTA updates only to people who have asked to receive them.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or for any commercial purpose.
Sharing with third parties
We share personal information only with the limited set of service providers required to run this website and the PTA's core operations. These providers act on our behalf and are not permitted to use the information for their own marketing.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and security (request logs and form submissions in transit).
- Zeffy — donation processing on a hosted page outside this site.
- Google Maps — an embedded map on our Contact page. When the map loads, Google may receive your IP address and information about your browser, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Google Calendar (public iCal) — we display a public, read-only feed of community-education events. No personal information about you is sent to Google by viewing those events.
- Email providers — when you write to us, your message is delivered through standard school and PTA email accounts (e.g., schools.nyc.gov, tnsny.org) so we can reply.
We may also disclose information if we are required to do so by law, by a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the school community.
How we protect information
- The site is served only over HTTPS (TLS) so traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit.
- Form submissions and content are stored in access-controlled databases hosted on Cloudflare, with administrative access limited to authorized PTA and school staff.
- Admin accounts use authenticated sign-in. Volunteers only have access to the data they need to do their role.
- We retain form submissions only as long as needed to respond to your request or fulfill the related PTA activity, and then we delete or archive them.
No method of transmission or storage on the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle.
Your choices
- You can choose not to submit any form on the site.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete information you have submitted by emailing us (see below).
- You can unsubscribe from any PTA mailing list at any time by replying to the message or using the unsubscribe link.

This site links to other websites operated by the NYC Department of Education, our donation processor, and community partners. Once you leave tnsny.org, this policy no longer applies — please review the privacy policy of the site you visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted clearly on the site.
