Pre-K students build on their 3K experience with more structured exploration, early math and literacy skills, and rich social interactions. Children practice working in small groups, follow multi-step routines, and take growing responsibility for their classroom community.

Literacy & Language Arts
Pre-K children begin to recognize letters and sounds, hear and play with rhymes, and tell their own stories in writing and pictures. Reading aloud, shared writing, and dramatic play strengthen their early language skills.
Mathematics
Counting, comparing, sorting, and patterning all become more intentional in Pre-K. Children explore numbers up to 10 and beyond, work with shapes and measurement, and begin to see math as a tool for solving real problems.
Science
Pre-K scientists ask questions, make predictions, and test ideas. Investigations might focus on plants, animals, weather, water, or simple machines -- always rooted in what children notice in the world around them.
Social Studies
Children study their own families, classrooms, and the East Village neighborhood. They begin to think about how communities work and how each member contributes.
The Arts
The arts are integrated into every part of the day -- visual art with teaching artists, music and movement, dramatic play, and storytelling. Children develop creative voice as part of how they learn.
Social-Emotional Learning
Pre-K builds on 3K's social-emotional foundation with more practice in cooperation, problem-solving, and persistence. Children learn to advocate for themselves, listen to peers, and contribute to classroom decisions.
